The Bryans Collection
Bryans Auto Works 1935
William Edward Bryan
On the front of every Bryans catalogue or flyer it said
BRYANS AUTOMATIC MACHINES
“They are so Different"
And different they were, each machine had its own unique shape that made it stand out from other makes, Bryans games were new and entertaining for their day, also the heart of the machines were built to an exacting standard, only to be expected from an engineer and inventor with Rolls Royce training. His machines have become highly sort after by private collectors,
This page will give you a glimpse into the world of Bryans Automatic Machines.

The Live Nudest Colony
One of the strangest and surely the most outrageous rip off in slot machine history was this Bryans machine from 1936. Nothing on the description board was untrue, they were going about their work and their play and they were nude, what it didn't say was it was a colony of live ANTS! The name was soon changed to "a live peep show" probably because operators were getting complaints from punters, but this didn't seem to help because it was soon changed again to "The Ant viewer" which rather spoilt the joke. The instruction sheet that came with the machine(see below) makes for interesting reading. The truly amazing thing about it is, who first thought of this idea and that it actually did work. A certain kind of ant was supplied by Bryans. The ant nest was pretty much self-cleaning and only feeding every month was needed
